When did you unlearn “fun”?
FREE Masterclass in Puns! Courtesy of the wonderful folks at Basin Creek Retirement Village. I couldn’t stop laughing—and if you know me, you know I’m a sucker for puns. But here’s what I really love: the joy behind it all.
Research suggests that “across the lifespan, adults who maintain a playful disposition show higher happiness and meaning-in-life indicators.” (Proyer, 2013)
Translation: Play can improve your quality of life. 🌈
And yet... how many of us have unlearned play?
Perfectionists, people-pleasers, high-achievers—we trade silliness for “professionalism.” We filter joy through what’s “socially acceptable” or “productive.”
We humblebrag about "not having time" for ourselves...
But look at them—I don't see perfectionism in charge here.
Their inner child is in control.
And that’s what keeps us young and true to ourselves.
So go ahead—be a goof.
Paint badly. Be unproductive. 😱 Try the idea that doesn’t make sense to your friends and family.
Play your way back to yourself.
❤️ I have to know... which costume pun was YOUR favorite??
